About the YWCA of Calgary
During our more than 100 year history, the YWCA of Calgary has been an advocate for women in our community. Our mission to intervene, empower and lead, when and where women need us most continues to drive the organization forward.
As one of the longest serving social service organizations in Calgary, we have touched tens of thousands of lives and continually evolve our programming to meet the changing needs of women. Our vision to see women thriving in a safe and equitable community is at the forefront of everything we do.
Our clients come through the doors of the YWCA because they are vulnerable. They may be struggling with poverty, homelessness, family violence or isolation. We meet each client, where they are at and offer them housing, emergency shelter, counselling and education or employment skill development. Through this continuum of service, encompassing more than 30 programs, the YWCA supports women, and their families to move from a place of vulnerability to one of resilience and strength.
