Who can participate?

Males and females, 18 years or older can particpate

Is there an age limit?

Yes, you have to eighteen years or older to sleep homeless on April 30.

What time do we need to check-in on April 30?

The exact time is yet to be determined but it will be somewhere between 6 and 7 p.m. All participants will be notified closer to the date.

What should I bring with me on April 30?

Please bring the clothes on your back, a sleeping bag and a pillow.
We request that participants do not use electronic devices during the event.
The YWCA will provide participants with a mat to sleep on, a locker for valuable items, a light supper and entertainment for the evening.
The following morning the YWCA will provide coffee and breakfast snacks.

What if I have cash or cheque donations?

We encourage you to enter your cash and cheque donations through your dashboard so that the donations are reflected online in your total raised.

We then request that you send your completed donation forms with the cash or cheque donations to the YWCA or bring them to the event. DO NOT MAIL CASH

How do I make a donation?

You can make a donation to a specific participant or to the RBC Keep a Roof general fund. Click here to donate.

Where your dollars go?

Your donations provide direct opportunities for women and children to stabilize their lives and move from crisis to economic stability, through the programs and services that the YWCA of Calgary provides. Click here for more information on where your dollars go.

Tax receipts?

The YWCA of Calgary is a registered charity (#10822 7927 RR0001). When you make a donation of $20 or more you will receive a tax receipt. Click here for more details on tax receipts.

Check-in opens

Meet and mingle: including RBC Olympians

Program begins: speeches, award presentations, light supper, movie, discussion following the movie

Lights out: a curtain will be drawn across to separate the male and female participants

Security guard on duty
6:00 a.m. Wake up call

Coffee and breakfast snack provided

Program: closing ceremonies
Approximately 7:30 a.m.  Departure
